Robert J. Romano, Jr.

Bob Romano and his wife, Trish, have owned a camp in the Rangeley Lakes Region of Western Maine for nearly forty years. During that time, he’s written a number of novels as well as a collection of short stories set in this part of northern New England where the native brook trout remain as large as you’ll find south of Labrador and the landlocked salmon continue to dance across the pools and runs of iconic rivers such as the Magalloway, Kennebago, and Rapid.  Although many anglers travel to the Rangeley Lakes Region for the thrill of hooking a fish measured in pounds rather than inches, Bob enjoys playing tag with smaller trout found in backwoods ponds and headwater streams.

His essays and short stories have appeared in various anthologies, including Christmas in the Wild, Fresh Fiction for Fresh Water Fishing, and Wildbranch: An Anthology of Nature, Environmental, and Place-Based Writing.

Bob is also a frequent contributor to MidCurrent as well as Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Magazine. His essays have also appeared in The Drake and Fly Culture Magazine. He also writes a column for Northwoods Sporting Journal while doing his best to keep up with his blog: (http://forgottentrout.wordpress.com)

Trish Romano often adds artwork and photographs to illustrate her husband's writing. An accomplished artist, the couple’s daughter, Emily Rose Romano, has contributed a number of watercolors to her father’s collection of short stories reproduced in a set of notecards.
