About the Authors:
Peter Hayes has spent a lifetime exploring hidden worlds—first through archaeology and ancient history, later as a market researcher, and now in the world of trout and fly fishing. Since retiring, he’s focused on conservation, running the Wilton Fly Fishing Club, and studying trout behavior in detail. He’s authored three books on fly fishing, including a collaboration with Don Stazicker based on thousands of hours of high-definition trout footage.
Don Stazicker is a respected UK-based fly fishing author known for his deep expertise in trout behavior and fly design. He co-authored Trout and Flies – Getting Closer and The Flies That Trout Prefer with Peter Hayes, blending science, photography, and video to reveal how trout feed and how anglers can better match their patterns and presentations.
