Musky have been called the fish of 10,000 casts and are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, fish to catch on a fly. As the apex predator in its world, a mature musky can be viciously aggressive or passively aloof. The combination of the musky’s potential size, unpredictability, and mystique has drawn the attention of anglers for many decades. The odds are stacked against the fly angler: there are limited numbers of musky in any fishery, they prefer larger meals, reducing feeding occurrences per day, and the fly needs to be presented in a precise place when an aggressive fish is ready to eat. Hunting Musky with a Fly offers advice on the right equipment, rigging, and flies, as well as the mental and physical preparation necessary for musky fishing.
