Ed Van Put has been a passionate fly fisherman for over fifty years and served as a fisheries professional for New York State for more than four decades. He is the acclaimed author of The Beaverkill: The History of a River and Its People and Trout Fishing in the Catskills. A founding member of the Beamoc Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Catskill Fly Tiers Guild, Ed learned to tie flies from Catskill legends Harry and Elsie Darbee. He lives with his wife Judy in the heart of the Catskills.
