About the Image

It was a midwinter day in the studio, and the phone rang.

"Do you have plans for February?" my friend asked.

"Just the usual," I chuckled. "Painting and a bit of writing. Why do you ask?"

"Well, if you can get away, some friends are joining me on a little fishing trip, and there’s room for one more."

"When in February?"

"All of February," he chuckled. "We’re flying my new jet around the world. The first stop is in the Seychelles, next to Northern Australia, and finally to New Zealand."

"I don’t know… let me ask Lisa," I responded.

Lisa had been listening to the conversation and laughed. "I’ll help you pack!"

It sounds rarified to be flying at 40,000 feet in a private jet, on our way to go fishing, but the six of us might have been in any Northwood fishing lodge. Four of the group were deep into a game of gin, and another fellow was tying flies, while I cleaned and oiled a fly reel.
