About the Image

This one is personal.

Years ago my buddy, Mike Dvorak, and I took two of our heroes on a three-day float. I rowed my drift boat with Dave Norling and Dr. Tom Waters and Mike followed, doing what he does; taking world-class photographs.

One shot, in particular, cried out to painted. And one day, in just one day, it came out as a lovely watercolor, titled, "Evening Soft". It was magical and we loved it.

It sold at a show just a few months later, leaving an empty space in our home and a hole in our hearts.

I repainted the scene, this time as a large luscious oil painting. "Glide" hung in our bedroom for a couple of years, until a collector purchased it. Again, the absence left a hole in our lives.

In it’s third iteration, the image was painted as a nocturne with a full moon rising.
