About the Image
I usually paint from my own photography, but when I saw Keith Crowley's photograph of Damian Wilmot and Matt Holbrook in a refurbished Lucius canoe on the Brule River, I thought, "... what a perfect photograph. When I grow up, that's how I want to paint!”
Keith kindly granted me permission to paint from his capture, and "Morning Soft on the Bois Brule" resulted from the collaboration. As I pointed out to Keith, "All I did was paint from a great photograph."
