"Small Batch Flies" | Hand-Tied Flies, Unmatched Quality

    About FlyCulture

Sean Chahley created FlyCulture as a passion project in late 2018. Sean grew up on the banks of the Columbia River in the interior region of BC and learned to tie flies at the age of twelve. Images of his flies eventually made their way to social media and sparked enough interest to generate some custom orders – from there, FlyCulture was born.

FlyCulture’s mission is to provide fishing enthusiasts with patterns that are tied with unmatched quality and care. Each and every fly is hand-tied with nothing but the best products and finished in a way that ensure your hook stands a chance of catching an extra fish or two before expiring. Sean ties a wide variety of proven patterns as well as some unique flies that have now become secret weapons and day-savers for happy customers all over the world.

Having been surrounded by some of the best stillwater locations in the world, Sean naturally took a liking to Chironomid fishing and has become known for his expert pattern design and production. Sean is extremely humbled to know that FlyCulture has played a part in personal best catches for so many stillwater adventurers world-wide!

All flies are hand-tied and shipped within 5-10 days

    PATTERNS

    Auntie Static

The Auntie Static utilizes a long standing secret ingredient – anti-static electronic packaging. There’s something about the way that this material shimmer and shines in the water that the fish simply cannot resist. This dark and almost translucent looking material combined with a red ribbing makes this pattern one of the top go-to Chironomids you can have in your fly box.

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.

    Black RedButt

The RedButt Chironomid is a very widely used color combination in the indicator stillwater fishing game. The red butt gives the appearance of early stage hemoglobin development while the dark contrasting body color and silver ribbing provide an appetizing finish to this very successful pupa pattern.

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.

    Olive RedButt

It’s like the Black RedButt but with an olive contrast and matching bead head. The olive color adds some variety to your fly box while still utilizing the red attractor at the bottom of the pattern. This is a highly successful pattern all year long!

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.

    Chartreuse Caboose

The Chartreuse Caboose will become an instant favorite as soon as you cast this pattern into the water. Three different colors are layered to give this pupa outstanding contrast - while the red ribbing provides a realistic imitation of hemoglobin development.

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.

    Dun Destroyer

This tri-colored pattern has been a secret weapon among Stillwater enthusiasts for a very long time and now the secret is out! The way this pattern transition from red to dun to rust seems to trigger a type of hunger in the fish that usually ends up destroying their day…hence the name!

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.

    Gray-Brown Copper Top

This is an extremely simple pattern that for whatever reason, the fish cannot avoid. The gray-brown color and the copper bead combine to make this an extremely effective searcher pattern when you aren’t quite sure what the fish are feeding on. Surprisingly enough, these are also worked very well in fast moving water in drifting fashion. Start your day with this pattern – you’ll be glad you did!

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.

    Rusty Olives

Like the Gray-Brown Copper tops – this is another simple pattern that is a must have in your fly box. The transition from olive to rust color gives this pattern the amount of variety to stand out in a crowd when the fish seem to be too picky to eat something fancier. This pattern is a great way to start your day but you’ll find that you might not even need to change this one out – it’s just too good!

    Tied on premium #2302 hooks.
