"Small Batch Flies" | Hand-Tied Flies, Unmatched Quality
About Eclipse Fly Co.
Owner and lead tier Scott Hetzer started Eclipse Fly Co. in 2018 after guiding in Virginia's Piedmont region. The way fly fishing connects individuals to their surroundings and the environment gave Scott a deep connection to the sport that he is determined to share with others.
The Eclipse selection of flies available through MidCurrent are some of Scott’s personal/shop favorites. All have been tested and fished worldwide. Meticulously tied with the highest quality materials available, these flies are supremely durable and will put fish in the net. When purchasing from Eclipse Fly Co. you receive both a premium product and a direct line of communication with your tier.
Unmatched quality and customer service has helped Eclipse grow and also provide talented tiers with an outlet for bringing their work to market, giving customers convenient access to domestically produced, premium flies.
All flies are hand-tied and shipped within 3-5 days
The Achilles Caddis features a balance of natural and synthetic materials that blend to create depth and movement. Standout segmentation, iridescence, and flash uniquely combine to offer an effective balance of subtlety and attractiveness. A peacock body secured with olive-colored vinyl ribbing allows for longevity, while the aggressively brushed SLF thorax provides translucence and contrast.
This kit includes three (3) flies and is available in size #14 (3.3mm tungsten bead) and size #16 (2.8mm tungsten bead).
The Hot Squirrel is an attractor-style emerger with exceptional ability to find the pickiest fish. Designed to get down low and swing high, this bug targets every portion of the water and is effective no matter the situation. A fluorescent tungsten bead is complemented by a holographic ribbed body of blended Fox Squirrel and SLF dubbing. Additionally, a split dubbed collar of Spiky Fox fibers and SLF provide bugginess and movement. Proper shine, contrast, and volume create a uniquely effective, translucent appearance that will not go unnoticed.
This kit includes three (3) flies and is available in size #14 (2.8mm tungsten bead) and size #16 (3.3mm tungsten bead).
The Stone Diver is a basic stonefly imitation in the form of a deadly jig. Its components make it synthetically natural, indestructible, and useful year-round. Designed to get down quick, this heavyweight will tumble and roll, and can be mistaken for a wide variety of aquatic insects. Additionally, a UV thorax and resin-coated wing pad provide flash and translucence.
This kit includes three (3) flies and is available in size #14 (3.5mm tungsten bead), size #16 (3.3mm tungsten bead) and size #18 (2.8mm tungsten bead).
The Micro Bugger is equally as versatile as it is consistent. As a micro-streamer, it can effectively be drifted, swung, and even retrieved. Most importantly, its Hungarian partridge collar provides excellent action while tumbling down low or struggling up high. Use this fly in place of a traditional Woolly Bugger as its smaller profile makes ‘the take’ an easier decision.
This kit includes three (3) flies and is available in size #10 (3.8mm tungsten bead).
The Walt’s Worm is a pattern as classic as it is effective, and with an updated appearance is an absolute must for any box. The Eclipse version of this fly features a traditional look with added components of durability and attraction. As it goes for any tinsel wrapped fly in our catalog, hidden superglue is used in multiple locations to provide unmatched longevity.
This kit includes three (3) flies and is available in size #14 (3.5mm tungsten bead), size #16 (3.3mm tungsten bead), and size #18 (2.8mm tungsten bead).

Flies look fine to me.Fish will be the final judge
Great looking fli - to me AND to a number of brookies!
I have bought many flies from midcurrent and the eclipse fly company. What sets them apart from everyone else, if they don’t mass produce every fly under the sun that may or may not catch who knows what. They take their time, make great selections, and in turn I have confidence on the water that the flies will produce… And I can honestly say they produce every Single Time. Well done.
Absolutely loved the flies thought they were very well-made
